'No Equipment' Breakthrough Turns Conferences into mini-United Nations with Translate Your World

(February 23, 2017)
DMN Newswire--2017-2-23--Translate Your World ('Tywi'), developers of multi-language communication technologies and inventions licensed by Intel, Cisco Systems, and global telecoms, today announced the release of its Tywi-Interpreter NES ('No Equipment Solution'), a groundbreaking software that turns any on-site or on-line conference into a United Nations style experience with real-time human interpretation, now with no interpretation equipment required.  Tywi-Interpreter NES is an easy to use software solution for distributing real-time simultaneous interpretation throughout conference halls, webinars, and around the globe at a fraction of current costs.  With Tywi's software, even the traditional earphones are not required for hundreds of attendees to hear interpretation.

Tywi-Interpreter is a whole new experience. Events have an aura like the United Nations, and large international venues finally have an efficient and inexpensive way to provide professional language service with almost no equipment or preparation.  Once a facility is prepared with the Tywi solution (as quickly as 30 minutes), thereafter interpretation can be offered in moments for future events.

Until the advent of Tywi-Interpreter software, conference organizers lived in a complicated world of building interpretation booths, laying cables, renting or shipping hundreds of earphones with transmitters and receivers, setting up special audio mixers, paying dedicated audio personnel, and organizing distribution and collection of earphones.  Additionally, they often paid for interpreters' transportation, hotels, travel, and meals.  One large conference could easily cost $20,000 in interpreter equipment and lodging, all of which are eliminated by utilizing the Tywi software.

With Tywi-Interpreter, everything is simplified. Interpreters may be located anywhere in the world, no travel required.  The interpreters translate from their home or office.  Their voices arrive instantly as high quality HD audio at the venue and online.   Webinars and online meetings only need their normal laptop and their web conferencing software ' nothing else.  Attendees just click a link for a popup with the real-time interpretation.

Hundreds of Listeners, No Equipment

For on-site conferences, Tywi's new 'No Equipment Solution' ('NES') offers a low cost and hassle-free alternative.  For the first time, hundreds of people in the audience can listen on their own devices with no apps to download and nothing to install ' just go to a webpage.  They hear the interpreter's voice as an audio stream emitted by a tiny software downloaded into the organizer's second laptop from the Translate Your World website.  The second laptop 'beams' the interpretation directly to the attendees' own mobile devices.

Sue Reager, president of Translate Your World who has a history of inventing telecom solutions, explains,  'What is revolutionary about this new on-site approach to audio distribution is the fact that streaming audio to personal devices is free of charge to the audience and free to the meeting organizer and facility. Attendee's devices do not need to access the Internet to hear the interpreter, so there are no battles for bandwidth and their mobile provider does not count this data toward monthly quotas.'

Reager continues,  'For small conferences and webinars, attendees can listen via Internet from a webpage on a smartphone, tablet or laptop.  The audio is of such high quality that it can be played on loudspeaker or connected to traditional transmitter and earphones, if desired.  Importantly, Tywi-Interpreter is also compatible with all web conferencing software such as Webex, Skype, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Adobe Connect, BlueJeans, Blackboard, etc. so it can be used with any webinar or hybrid event.'

Simultaneous Interpretation Anywhere Without Internet

As an important perk for business groups that travel the world with their own interpreters (e.g. visiting delegations, global business leaders, and travel tours), the Tywi-Interpreter offers a 'portable' solution that enables localized simultaneous interpretation without Internet.  This functions in places previously inaccessible such as busses, basements, museums, and unwired locations.

Voice To Subtitles

Perhaps the crowning achievement of the software is the add-on feature that turns the interpreter's voice into subtitles to display on walls, monitors or personal devices.  At a click, the subtitles can even be automatically translated into other languages for groups of attendees from other countries.
